Berkhamsted Loft Conversion

LOFT CONVERSION CASE STUDY

THE BRIEF:

Driven by a need for additional space the owners of a 1930’s terraced house in Berkhamsted engaged Sageleaf to undertake a loft conversion.

THE CHALLENGE:

Compliance with the requirements of the Party Wall Act required a ‘method statement’ to be completed for this residential project. Sageleaf prepared a detailed account of the work that would be undertaken including the hours of work, rights of access and drawings.

The project also involved the installation of structural steelwork along with boundary and waterproofing with the adjoining roof. This resulted in our work being subject to additional inspections at critical points in the process.

THE SOLUTION:

With careful planning and attention to detail Sageleaf met all the requirements to satisfy the Party Wall Act and building inspectors.

THE OUTCOME:

Our experienced team built a large, flat roofed dormer which extended to the rear of the Berkhamsted property. The owners now enjoy a large master bedroom with en-suite along with a separate home office. This loft conversion has provided them with the space they desire whilst also increasing the value of their home.

OUR CUSTOMERS SAY:

Pritchards is a great firm to work with – they respond promptly, turn up on time, and do an excellent job. Professional as business and highly proficient as a plumber. After Jake fixed two radiators I was happy to commission Pritchards again to repair a dripping tap and leaky sink, which was completed with equal efficiency. Happy to use again and to recommend.

Really pleased with the work Pritchards done for us. It was only a small job, fixing a leak from a cistern, but they were professional from start to finish. Excellent communications, arrived exactly when they said they would and sorted the problem quickly and efficiently. Couldn’t be happier and would recommend to anyone.
