THE BRIEF:
The brief was to build a small, in-fill extension at the back of the house.
THE CHALLENGE:
Access was the greatest challenge on this project. The only way to get to the rear of the property was through the garage.
THE SOLUTION:
The Sageleaf team removed the rear garage door and lining. This widened the passage to make it easier for workers and equipment to reach the build area. Access was still limited, so the footings had to be dug by hand and concrete was piped with a pump.
THE OUTCOME:
Despite the challenges, Sageleaf was able to build the rear extension and expand the existing living room. The owners report that the benefits of a larger room are clearly evident when their grandchildren come to visit.
